Behind every building project, there is a team of people, all experienced in their own expertise that need to do their role in realizing your dream home.

There are several consultants that are needed for a project, but it depends on the projects as to what consultants you need and therefore how many.

While some like Geotechnical Engineers are needed for soil tests to check the stability and load-bearing capacity of the ground on most new build and alteration projects, some specialists like Structural Engineers or Planners are required on certain ones. Roof water drainage often needs to be dealt with onsite even for urban sections. The capacity of wastewater systems needs to be designed or checked so that they work with the new home.

At a Design Advice Consultation, I discuss with my clients the needed for various consultants based on their aspirations and situation. These consultants naturally charge for their services, so getting clear on who needs to be brought in also influences the project budget. Consultants can have an impact on the project’s timeframe, so its important to consider this early on.

If you are starting a project and are feeling a little confused as to who to talk to and why, give me a call and we can have a chat about how a Design Advice Consultation can help you become clear on how this all works. It does not have to been confusing or overwhelming. I am here to help. Book a complimentary chat on https://smartlivingspaces.nz/Book-Your-Next-Step. I look forward to hearing from you.
