The owners of this 1970's architectural gem fell in love with the style of this building. It was important to them, that while the gully house was adapted to suit their family needs and aspirations, that the original character (which first caught their attention) be honoured.
The house has the uncharacterist challange of using up space, rather than making space work very hard, The existing footprint of the house was quite large, but the spaces didnt flow into one another like we need them to for our modern day living. The annex which has been converted into a secondary dwelling, had over time a few interventions installed that made it boxy and impracticle.
