This is a great day as this signals the start of the building process. Building Consent has been granted so now its time to finalise things with the builder and move out! This is now starting to feel real which is a mixture of excitement and disbelief. 

Also time to sort out Contract Works insurance.  If you are building new, the builder will take out contract works insurance as part of his contract (if the builder is acting as the main contractor). The responsibility of contract works insurance for alterations and additions lies with the owner of the property.
