Mystery Creek Farm House
This is a Architecturally Designed rural house for a family with two young boys. The spaces have been considered to allow the couple's parents to come stay for extended periods, encouraging family interaction whilst still provide space for the boys to retreat to.
These clients still talk about the Architectural design process today and how I help them achieve their dream home. The entry provides divide to the boys wing and the rest of the house allowing the option of a home-stay business in the future and in the meanwhile giving the boys a place to make their own. Views towards Pirongia, Maungatautari and Te Aroha are balanced with the homes northern orientation and glazing arrangement. The client requested "honest" materials giving rise to a palate of sealed concrete floors, metal cladding and cedar weatherboards.
The Architectural Design brief was for Open plan dining, kitchen and lounge, separate Laundry, Double Garage Materbedroom with Ensuite, Spare room with Guest WC, Separate toilet and Bathroom, 2 Bedrooms to separate wing, Separate Living room.
Completed in 2016, this home continues to support the changing and growing needs of the family it was designed for.
