Mangataparu Lifestyle Home | Built for Family, Grounded in Performance
A Home to Grow a Life In
Designed for a young couple with a dream of building a life — and one day a family — in the countryside, this Architecturally Designed rural home is a celebration of collaboration, clarity, and care.
From the beginning, the design process was a true partnership. The couple came with clear ideas but welcomed architectural input, and together we shaped a home that balances simplicity, warmth, and long-term performance.
Collaborative, Client-Led Design
The brief called for:
An open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with a dedicated scullery
A separate lounge for privacy and downtime
Three bedrooms with a shared family bathroom + separate WC
A master suite with ensuite
And a functional separate laundry for busy rural living
The layout reflects rural rhythms while anticipating the future — a home that will grow with its owners.
Building Better, Even Without the Labels
While this home isn’t certified Passive House or Homestar, performance was front of mind from the start. Thoughtful detailing and quality products mean it will exceed NZ Building Code minimums and provide a healthy, efficient living environment for years to come.
Key performance features include:
Eurotech recessed window flashings for better water management
Pro Clima Intello air tightness barrier for improved energy control
Abodo timber cladding — a sustainable, durable choice for long-term performance
These elements make a meaningful difference in comfort, durability, and energy use — without needing to rely on certification to prove it.
A Heartfelt, Rural Modern Home
This home is more than just a project — it’s the foundation for a life. Designed with care, built with performance in mind, and made to nurture future possibilities.
It’s a warm reminder that good architecture is about listening, guiding, and building something that lasts — together.
